Writing books about Sherlock Holmes could make you a lot of enemies, but from there to commit murder it's a big step, don't you think?
Gemma is the owner of The Sherlock Holmes Bookshop and when the famous writer Renalta Van Markoff asks to do a signing in her little bookshop she can not believe her luck until someone decides to kill the famous writer during the signing and one of her friends is the first suspect. She will not stop till she discovers the truth. Ready?

'"I recognize that look," Jayne said. "And I don't like it. What are you thinking?
"I'm thinking it's time to eliminate the impossible and thus discover the improbable."
"That makes absolutely no sense."'

A murder in a bookshop is the typical mystery all book lovers want to investigate once in their life as a play role, of course, not with a real victim!
Gemma is a very intelligent and brave woman, but sometimes her intelligence makes her a little too much insolent, specially with the police...
Since we start reading the book we know the list of possible murders is not very long, friends and family of Gemma being dismissed, the problem is that all the other characters have a motive and an opportunity, we will have to investigate deeply to know the truth!
I liked the role and friendship of Gemma with her best friend Jayne and Ashleigh her employee; they take care of each other without being overprotective.
I am not sure if I like the male role in this book, detective Ryan, because he is someone to trust or his work is more important than his personal life? Because I can assure you I would never accept one of my partners talking as rude as Estrada (Ryan partner detective) talks to any of my friends! I suppose I will have to read next book to know more about them...
This has been a great read, everyone had motives and with some funny characters this book will make you remember the great Arthur Conan Doyle books! Just a hint, there's a Moriarty too...
This is the second book of the "A Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mystery", but you can read it as standalone.
Would you trust to drink of an open bottle of water?
