How can we face grieve?
Everyone is different, some make like it didn't happen, others spend all day crying and the luckiest ones take a day a time and talk about their feelings.
After reading so many crime books, I have learnt that coincidence doesn't exist. Some things always happen for a reason, but in this book I couldn't figure out the link between the two things till the end! How a murder and a disappearance could be connected? Yes, there could be a lot of reasons, but which one is the correct one here?

"It was the silence that frightened Heather. It seemed to come from nowhere, a creeping, drowning vacuum racing across the playground, down the muddy bank towards where she sat, both feet planted firmly in the rocky brook. One moment the air had sparkled with her younger sister's laughter, the aching creak of the swing, then nothing."

Selena Cole has disappeared leaving two little girls... Leah, the leading detective is not sure if this is a kidnapping or a murder... and when Selena returns, Leah has more questions than ever...
When Leah's brother is assigned to a murder, Leah thinks that maybe the two cases could be connected. Will she fight for the truth or just follow the rules? And the most important think... Where had been Serena all this time?
I have to say that I loved this book, it's one of my top 10 to read! It's a slow passed mystery, where everything is important and never know what to think, and it will maintain the intrigue till the end!
The story is told by the two detectives; Leah and Finn and in between we can read some Kidnapping and Ransom cases from Serena's husband firm. The cases are scaring and frightening at the same time. Can you believe that kidnapping and ransom is a business? Just the thought of it, it creeps me out!
I have read a lot of crime/thriller books, but reading something original and different is refreshing; that's why I highly recommend you to read this book.
Remember that lies will no keep you safe!
